World Trade Center Islamabad is being developed by the Al Ghurair Giga Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited. The concept of a World Trade Center in Pakistan was promoted by the Vice Chairman of the Group, Haji Rafiq Giga.

Al Ghurair Giga is the official licensee of the World Trade Centers Association New York, for Islamabad. World Trade Center Islamabad will be amongst 326 WTC’s operating in about 100 countries, with 750,000 affiliations.

The World Trade Center Islamabad was designed by the Malaysian architectural firm, Hijjas Kasturi Associates SDN. The adjacent hotel was designed by Nihon Sekkei of Japan.

The groundbreaking ceremony and launch of the World Trade Center Islamabad were done in March 2007.
